General education

With a view of maintenance of rights of citizens on reception of available and free-of-charge primary general, basic general, secondary (full) general education in the region 98 establishments of general education function:

• 51 secondary schools, including 1 establishment of general education with deep studying of various subjects, 1 establishment of general education with studying of languages and cultures of the Jewish people, 1 not state educational establishment;
• 21 basic schools,
• 21 elementary schools, including 1 boarding school for children - orphans who have stayed without care of parents, 10 educational establishments for children of preschool and primary school age;
• 1 evening (shift) school,
• 4 special (correctional) schools for trainees, pupils with deviations in development, including 3 special (correctional) boarding schools.

96 establishments of general education and all preschool establishments have the license for educational activity.

In day time establishments of general educational in the 2007-2008 academic year in the region 19076 pupils studied. 18324 pupils (98,8 %) have successfully graduated the appropriate step of education. On a repeated curriculum 229 pupils (in 2006/2007 academic year - 265) are left.

During the 2007/2008 academic year 756 pupils left establishments of general education (2007/2008 academic year - 1711), from them 270 pupils (2006/2007 academic year - 538) left for other establishments of general education which are located outside the region. 40 pupils of senior classes (2 %) left training at secondary day time schools and continued education in professional and specialized secondary schools, evening schools (in the 2006/2007 educational year - 6 %).

The analysis of results of the 2007/2008 academic year showed insignificant growth of the basic parameters of quality of education.

The amount of pupils who have acquired general educational programs with "4" and "5" marks makes 39 %, that is higher on 2 % than the parameter of the 2006/2007 academic year.

The regional parameter of knowledge quality of pupils of primary education made 53 % (in the 2006/2007 academic year - 53 %).

Knowledge quality of pupils of secondary education made 34 % (in the 2006/2007 academic year - 31,7 %).

The parameter of knowledge quality of pupils of secondary (full) education increased from 27 % (2006/2007 academic year) up to 30 % (2007/2008 academic year).

By the results of final (state) certification 97,3 % (2006/2007 academic year - 98 %) graduates received the certificate about the basic general education, including 1 % of a special sample and 99,8 % (2006/2007 academic year - 99,9 %) - the certificate about secondary (full) education, including 3,2 % (2006/2007 academic year - 2,6 %) of a special sample. 47 graduates of secondary (full) schools are awarded with medals "For special successes in the studying", including 15 pupils - with gold medals (in 2007 - 43 graduates, 14 - awarded with gold medals). A high part of the graduates awarded with medals are in Birobidzhan (7,7 %) and the Smidovichskiy district (6,5 %).

The parameter of knowledge quality of graduates of 9 classes made 24,3 % that is higher, than in 2007 (22,5 %).

According to the order of the Federal service on supervision in sphere of education and science from 18.03.2008 N 541, the order of the committee of education of the JAR from 25.01.2008 N 22 "On statement of the plan of preparation and realization of the unified graduation examination (UGE) in 2008" graduates of establishments of general educational were given an opportunity to pass certification in the form of UGE in 11 subjects. 99 % of graduates passed the state (final) certification in the form of UGE for the Russian language and mathematics. 52 % of trainees passed the state certification for three and more subjects in the form of UGE.

Most successfully, on the results of UGE, examination on social science has passed. The percent mastered the base level of the subject has made 95,6 %, amount of graduates who have executed work on a raised and high level - 66,3 %.

81 % of graduates of 9 classes of comprehensive schools of the region passed the state (final) certification for the Russian language and algebra in conditions of introduction of independent system of estimation of quality of education.

By results of the final certification 79 % graduates of 9 classes have shown a base level of knowledge for algebra, 87 % - for the Russian language.

In the system of the general education in the 2007/2008 academic year 2690 persons carried out pedagogical activity. 1929 pedagogical workers (71 %) are certificated on qualifying categories, including 209 (7 %) - on the supreme qualifying category, 950 (35 %) - on the first one, 770 (28 %) - on the second one.

In the 2007/2008 academic year in educational establishments of the region 55 young experts began to work (2006/2007 academic year - 19 persons)

As for 01.07.2008 requirement for the pedagogical staff makes 84 places, including 25 places of teachers of foreign languages, 10 – teachers of elementary school, 9 - teachers of biology and chemistry, 5 – teachers of computer science, 8 – teachers of physics etc.
